Jordan Ramey
Freshman Blue and Varsity Assistant
Jordan Ramey joined the Georgetown High School staff in 2005. For four years he coached boys’ teams in football, soccer, and basketball. He took the coaching reins of the freshman blue team in 2011 and became an assistant varsity coach. His first team compiled a 24-4 record, sharing district championship honors with Pflugerville. His second team won two tournaments as well as the undefeated district title, while compiling a 25-2 record. In 2013 his team won two tournaments as well winning district with an undefeated record while finishing overall with a 29-2 record. In 2014 his team won the Cedar Park and Georgetown Tournaments while placing third in the junior varsity division of the Waco Midway Tournament. The team went 14-0 and won the district championship while finishing the year 26-1. This year his team went 20-7 and placed third in District 25-5A.
Coach Farney credits Jordan with the Lady Eagles’ transformation from a post-oriented team to a read-based offense. Since becoming part of the Lady Eagle staff, the varsity has turned in a record of 125-20, playing in the state tournament bringing home silver, gold, and bronze, respectively.
Coach Ramey started the Glenn program in 2016-2017 going 4-25 with freshman and sophomores only. His second year at Glenn the Grizzlies went 18-10 and won the first playoff game in Glenn history for any program. His last 3 years at Glenn the program went 15-10, 19-14, and 27-6.
Coach Ramey came back to Georgetown in 2023. His freshman teams have posted records of 19-2 both years. They shared the district title in 23-24 with Hendrickson and were undefeated district champions in 24-25.
An outstanding high school athlete, Ramey lettered in football, basketball, and track at Sulphur Springs High School. He won the Forest Gregg MVP award in high school which goes to an athlete who had success in three or more sports. A 2001 graduate of Sulphur Springs, he was named All-District as senior quarterback and All-District in basketball for three years. He also was a three-year letterman in track, participating in the long jump.
Ramey graduated from Howard Payne University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in math and education. Joining the GHS athletic staff that same year, he helped lead the football team into the 2008 playoffs. He coached soccer from 2006-2008, and boys’ basketball in 2009.
In addition to coaching basketball, Ramey teaches math and coaches track.
Coach Ramey is married to his wife Sydney and has 5 children, Ally, Mollie, Landree, Johnnie, and Joey.
