HOUSTON, TX- HBU women’s basketball senior Amanda Johnson has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team. This is voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced on Thursday.
Johnson, a biology major achieved a perfect 4.0 Undergraduate Cumulative GPA. This is her second time being named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team in her career. Johnson has played in all 22 games for the Huskies averaging 26.5 minutes per game. Currently Johnson leads the team in scoring with 13.1 points per game including 44.6 percent shooting from three-point range. She is just 33 points away from reaching 1,000 career points at HBU.
She will now be eligible for the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America team.
HBU is currently 7-15 on the season, with a 2-10 record in Southland Conference play. They play Northwestern State Thursday night at 6:30p.m. In Natchitoches, La. Before heading to Huntsville this Saturday to matchup against Sam Houston at 4:30p.m.
